I first discovered yoga as a hockey player (and as a student constantly hunched over her books 😅). I had neck pain, knee pain — everything hurt… and yoga truly changed me: less pain, better mobility, and more confidence in my body 💪

Eventually, I also learned that yoga is beneficial for anyone healing from stressful events and emotional challenges. Yoga can really help with centering oneself, rather than feeling numb or too much. There are benefits from classes that remind you to notice your body and the sensations and can help to restore the mind-body connection. So, I believe that yoga also helped me in this way. 🧘

Fast forward so many years after I began my yoga journey, and then pilates—I was researching about all the materials that we use daily and how harmful they are, and how as a consumer, it is so challenging to educate yourself about what products to buy. Even as an educated consumer, it is still hard to find products that are healthy and safe to use! Unfortunately, this includes yoga mats.

So, I thought that I could take a passion and make it safer and healthier for others. All the Crk yoga mats have materials that have been researched and found to be good for you, and for the environment. This is our core value and the reason for starting this company. 🌎💚
