Hey everyone, my name is Sarah and I’m the founder of Crk! 🌺

My name is Sarah Dandurand and I started yoga mats company, called Crk, in January 2025. What I was doing just prior to that was getting my pilot's licenses. I'm a commercially licensed pilot, and prior to that I completed a university degree with honours and a scholarship. However, between university and getting my pilots licenses, I experienced a couple major setbacks, including not knowing what I wanted to do for work and also a health issue that was extremely difficult to diagnose.

That's where my interest, or some might call it obsession with health began, is not knowing what was wrong with my health and trying to find some sense of control over everything that I was experiencing. I actually spent hours researching about health, also because when you're sick, there's not much else that you can do anyway. My goal was to find answers when doctors didn't seem to have any, in the hopes that I could live normally again and even thrive. I eventually started to make some positive changes and I even managed to uncover a little bit more about myself, including what I might actually like to do for work. That's when I began studying in aviation!

However I started to have some serious doubts about working as a pilot - it felt like something to do when all I wanted to do was travel without any major attachments to any place in particular. I was researching once again about health and I stumbled upon the risks of so many consumer products that are available on the market today. I was so taken aback, finding it truly hard to believe that what was in my own home could be toxic.

It felt like I had had to become highly educated as a consumer, just to know what not to buy. I experienced feelings of betrayal, seeing as so many companies sell products like clothing, bedsheets and yoga mats that are full of chemicals, and even forever chemicals. It's like as long as people continue to buy, the products will continue to sell, and no one's ever going to question it! It was at this moment, as someone who was already very active in yoga, that I made the difficult decision to put off working as a pilot and follow my passion for selling healthy yoga and pilates products.
